How to promote your local event, class or group for free
Running a class, a club or a community event? Here's how to write a listing that gets people through the door, and post it on Benta for free.

Whether it’s a weekend car boot, a beginners’ yoga class or a new five-a-side team, local events and groups live or die by word of mouth. A good listing on Benta helps the right people find you.
Start with the essentials
People decide in seconds. Put these in your title and the first lines of your description:
- What it is: “Beginners’ yoga class” is clearer than “Wellness session”.
- When: the date and time, or how often it runs.
- Where: the venue and area, plus parking or bus routes.
- Cost: free, a set price, or pay-what-you-can.
Say who it’s for
Is it for complete beginners, families, over-50s, students or experienced players? Mention age limits, accessibility and whether people need to bring anything.
Add a great photo
A real photo of your venue, your team or a previous session builds trust far more than a generic image. Bright, simple pictures work best.
Make it easy to get in touch
Benta’s message button lets people ask questions without you posting your phone number. Reply quickly. The first few days after posting usually bring the most interest.
Post it on Benta
- Tap Post an ad and choose A community listing.
- Pick a category such as Events and nightlife, Classes, Groups and clubs or Sports teams.
- Add the date if it’s a one-off event, and leave the price blank if it’s free.
- Publish, then share the link with your friends and existing members.
A few rules
Events must be lawful and accurately described. Lift sharing is for sharing travel costs, not paid rides. Read the full terms of use for details.
